(09/20/2008) The West Valley Leadership Conference was held for first-year FFA members Saturday, September 20. 28 Freshman showed up, and attended various workshops put on the the Executive Committee. The day ended with a BBQ lunch.

New Student BBQ
(09/17/2008) The first annual New Student BBQ was held at the school farm, serving over 200 people. Parents were told about the benefits of being enrolled in an ag class, and got their questions answered. The calender was also explained, and West Valley FFA Alumni Alyssa Gutierrez and Taylor Samuels spoke about being in ag for four years, but still being able to to to a four-year college right out of high school.

(09/15/2008) The chapter officers went up to Camp Tehama this last weekend for the Chapter Officer Leadership Conference. There, they went to various workshops put on by state and regional officers, did team building activities with CSU-Chico Ag students, and even did a skit in front of the camp. Many laughs and memories were made.

Anderson Explodes! BBQ

Executive Committee Planning Meeting a Success
(08/09/2008) The Executive Committee held a planning meeting August 8, to prepare for the upcoming year. The officers and committee chairs were able to bond, by participating in team building, swimming, and of course planning out the entire year.

(05/27/2008) Congratulations to the new 2008-2009 West Valley FFA chapter officer team! The results were announced at the banquet, held in the Performing Arts Building on Tuesday, May 27. The results are as follows:

Cow Chip Bingo
(05/09/2008) The annual Cow Chip Bingo fundraiser took place on Friday, May 9, following the Kiddie Parade in downtown Cottonwood.
After much preparation, the pen and board were set up.
Next. the chalk lines had to be drawn on.

Finally, the steer was released.
Once the ag teachers figured out which square the steer's first chip fell on, the winner was called. Later, she came to recieve her prize.
