Why did you join FFA?

I joined FFA because I had heard good things about it. When Kelsey Graber came and talked to my eighth grade class, I decided that I would do FFA. She talked about all of the awesome experiences she had and how much the FFA has helped her with filling out scholarships and other applications. Another reason that I joined FFA was because I wanted to gain more leadership and speaking skills. I think that joining the FFA was one of the best decisions that I have made in my high school career. I have gained so much through the FFA and I know I will be able to utilize these skills for the rest of my life.

What has been your most challenging FFA experience?

My most challenging FFA experience was probably learning the FFA Creed. This was hard for me to do because I was very busy at this time. Considering that there was 5 paragraphs to memorize, I am proud of myself. Also, I am nervous when I get in front of people. This has been a good for me though, because I am not as scared anymore and I am starting to get used to it. I am very glad that I competed in the FFA Creed at the chapter level- I have been able to conquer my fear of public speaking.

Who has had the greatest impact on your life?

My mom has had the greatest impact on my life. She babysitts all day, and at night she takes care of me and my three younger siblings. In a way my mom is like my best friend. She is understanding and always knows the right things to say. Whenever I get home from school there is always hot, delicious food waiting. Also, she always does fun stuff with us in the summer. We are able to spend quality time together by going on vacation as a family. I hope that when I become a mother in the future, that I will be as good of a mother as my mom.

If you had a million dollars, what would you do with it?

If I had a million dollars, I would pay for my college and my three siblings to go to college. I would do this because I think that everyone should go to college to learn life skills. Then, I would buy myself a new truck. I would give half of the left over money to my parents because they have done so much for me. Whatever money was left would be put into the bank or the credit union. I would do this so I could save it for a rainy day.

What is your favorite thing about ag and FFA so far?

My favorite thing about ag so far has been learning all of the different topics. The trees, mushrooms, and wildlife all pertain to my SAE. It is really cool to be able to go out to our farm and identify the trees. I have met so many new people and experienced many things that I never thought I would. I hope I will continue to grow as a person. The FFA experience has been the highlight of my high school experience and I will never forget all the amazing memories I have had on FFA trips. I learn so much about myself everytime I go to an FFA conference, and I also learn more about the person that I would like to be.
