Why did you join FFA?

I joined FFA for many reasons.  Among these are the many scholarships available if I participate in FFA.  It is a lot of fun, and is something different that can teach me a lot about life. It is a chance to meet new people and make many friends.  Ag class is different from the rest of the day's classes; its better!

What has been your most challenging FFA experience?

The State Horse Judging CDE was the hardest experience so far.  We had to judge horses on conformation and riding.  It challenged me by forcing me to use all I know about the show ring to make the correct decisions.  It was also a blast, and I loved it!!  I got to spend time with friends around horses; what more could I ask for?

Who has had the greatest impact on your life?

My mom has the greatest impact on my life.  She went back to college when she was 38 and still managed to raise my siblings and I while working.  She never complained. Now she is a Registered Nurse.  She showed me that it is never too late to follow your dream.  I can talk to her about anything and gives me advice whenever I need it.  I love her so much!!! Thanks mom!!

If you had a million dollars, what would you do with it?

I would give a lot of the money to my church, FFA chapter, and also donate some to charities.  After that I would buy a farm and about twenty horses.  I would offer lessons and therapeutic riding.  I would let people board their horses at my stable.  As I am also interested in training, I would offer to train horse owners' young horses.

Final thought

FFA is a blast!  I would recommend it to every student.  There are many scholarships available, and there is so much to learn from it.  It is not just for farm kids either.  It is for everyone, even the city-slickers!!  FFA has so much to offer everyone! Don't miss out!
