Once all totals are compiled get an evaluation guide for your recordbook area at the forms/applications icon. Complete it, then hand in to an advisor for review. Olney FFA Team named State Sales CDE Champions
(01/03/2012)The State Agricultural Sales CDE was held on Saturday, November 12th at Parkland College. Olney FFA members Kenna Benton, Adam Riggs, Kelsie Ochs, Audrey Burgener, and Maggie Bromm competed at this years event. The team won the State Championship and will be recognized at an awards ceremony during the State FFA Convention in June. Congratulations to the Ag Sales Team on a job well done!

(10/07/2011)The Olney FFA will have a team compete in the Ag Marketing Plan CDE at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis. Kenna Benton, Audrey Burgener, and Kelsie Ochs will represent our Chapter and the State of Illinois at this year's event. Good luck team!

Olney FFA Forestry Team has successful run at events
(09/21/2011)The Olney FFA Forestry team has been very successful at two recent events. The Team won at the Monticello Invitational last week, and again this week at the Pope County Invitational at the Dixon Springs Ag Center near Harrisburg. Great Job Team!!!!!!!

Olney member vies for Regional STAR Title
(06/02/2011)American FFA Degree Candidate, Corey Steber was recently named as a STAR Award Winner in Agricultural Placement. This award goes to the top placement record book in Illinois. Corey will now advance this summer to the Eastern Region competition. If he wins the regional title he will then compete for the National Title to be recognized in October at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis. Great job Corey and good luck at Regionals!
Jason Johnstone wins State Sheep Proficiency Award.
(05/02/2011)Jason Johnstone recently won a State SAEP Award in Sheep Production. Through hard work, recordbooks, and an 2 seperate interviews he walked away with the State highest award in his SAE area. He will be recognized on stage at the Illinois FFA State Convention in June, where he will receive a plaque and $100 for his efforts. Great job Jason!
Local member wins District Proficiency Award
(03/23/2011)Jason Johnstone recently placed 1st in his area at the District V Proficiency Award competition. Jason was the top SAE competitor in the Sheep Division. He will now represent our chapter at the State level in Champaign. Great job Jason!
Five members apply for State FFA Degree
(02/17/2011)Five Olney FFA members have applied for the State's highest degree. Applicants include: Stacie Cowman, Jalyn Ridgely, Marissa Runyon, Taylor Scherer, and Hillary Steber. Members completed the State Degree application and were recently interviewed by a Section 23 panel of judges. If approved the applicants will receive the degree during the State FFA Convention in June. Good luck candidates!

Olney Poultry team wins Section 23 CDE!
(02/17/2011)The Olney Poultry Judging team recently won the Section 23 Poultry CDE at the North Clay High School. Top 10 individual contest members include: Eric Ochs 1st, Fionna Gibbs 2nd, Stacie Cowman 4th, Hillary Steber 5th, Emma Boehl 6th, Mikyla Cooper 7th, and Ryan Ochs 9th. Ohter team members included: Jake Jenner, Austin Zwilling, and Anthony Sager. Great job team and good luck at the state competition in Champaign.

Hayride & Movie Night Friday, Nov. 5th
(10/29/2010)Come and eat hotdogs & smores, go on the hayride, then watch a scary movie. Turn in your rsvp by Nov. 3rd to either Advisor. Bring a blanket and a lawn chair! The VanDyke's will host this year event starting at 6:00.
Four Olney FFA Members receive highest degree at National FFA Convention.
(10/23/2010)Olney FFA members Andrew Crites, Mason Dehlinger, Matt Dehlinger, and Jordon Ridgely received the American FFA Degree on Saturday, October 23rd at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis. This is the highest number of American Degree recipients that the chapter has ever had at one time. The four were confirmed by the retiring National FFA Advisor Dr. Larry Case. Case has held the position since 1987. Congratulations to all the recipients, we're very proud of you!
Olney FFA Forestry Team wins Section CDE

Section 23 Ag Ed Fair - Prepare now!
(05/15/2010)The Section 23 Agricultural Education Fair will be held on Saturday, July 3rd at the Olney City Park. Projects raning from flowers and vegetables, to dogs, mechanics, and livestock will be exhibited. Records must be checked before the Section Horse Show on July 1st. SAE EZ Records must be up to date in order to compete. There is also a registration fee for each entry. Please see one of the FFA Advisor's for details.

Olney FFA honors members at 47th Annual Chapter Banquet
(04/26/2010)On April 20th, the Olney FFA Chapter honored several members at the annual chapter banquet. The following were selected with their respective awards: Corey Steber State SAEP Winner in Dairy Placement, Simon Burgener DeKalb Award & Outstanding Sr. , Hillary Steber Outstanding Jr., Ryan Ochs Outstanding Sophomore , and Star Greenhand Audrey Burgener. Mrs. Alice Zwilling and Mrs. Jane Frazier were selected as Honorary FFA Degree Recipients. Top fundraiser was Trevor May and Most Active Member was Ryan Ochs. Many others won awards please look in the local newspaper for a list of award winners. Congratulations to all of our members on a great year!
Olney wins Section 23 Ag Business and Ag Mechanics CDE's!
(04/26/2010)Congratulations to the Section Ag Business team members: Simon Burgener, Rachel Cunningham, Braden Pool, Jalyn Ridgely, and Stacie Cowman for winning the Section 23 FFA CDE. Also that night Section Ag Mechanic team members Jared Cummins, Eric Ernst, Eric Ochs, Austin Tibbs, and Ben Graham for winning the Ag Mech CDE! Corey Steber wins State Dairy Placement Proficiency Award!
(04/26/2010)Corey Steber competed at the State Proficiency Award competition held at the University of Illinois on April10th. He interviewed against the top four students in the Dairy Placement SAEP throughout the State of Illinois. The judges selected him as first place individual. For his efforts he will be recognized in June at the State FFA Convention with a plaque and check for $100. Great job Corey!

State Proficiency Awards

Olney FFA Sponsors "Teachers Night Out"
(12/01/2009)The annual "Teachers Night Out" program will be held on Friday December 18th from 6-9:00 at the ERHS Ron Herrin Gym. The purpose of this program is to show appreciation to our teachers for a job well done. We will babysit/watch their kids for up to 3 hours. Teachers can Christmas shop, enjoy supper, watch a movie, etc. Kids will play games, read, watch Christmas movies, etc. Supper will be provided for all the kids. Teachers are encouraged to sign their kids up early. Thanks to all of our great teachers for all you do to make our school a great place!
Olney FFA Member Wins Practicum at State Sales Contest
(11/25/2009)Olney FFA member Audrey Burgener, a freshmen at ERHS, recently placed first in the Order Filling practicum area at the FFA State Agricultural Sales Career Development Event in Champaign. In June, Audrey will be recognized on stage at the State FFA Convention in Springfield! She will receive a first place plaque and $100 for her efforts. Great job Audrey!

Back to School Bash
(09/11/2009)On August 25th, the chapter kicked off the school year with the annual Back to School Bash. A short meeting was held with the introduction of officers, followed by games in front of the ERHS Gym. Members made their own tye dye t-shirts! Welcome to all of the new Olney FFA Chapter members!
Member wins division at State Ag Mechanics CDE
(05/28/2009)Mason Dehlinger recently won the State Ag Mechanics Ag Power Division. The competition was recently held at the State Ag Mech CDE at the U of I in Champaign. The team placed sixth overall at the State CDE. Mason will be recognized on stage and receive $100 at the State FFA Convention. Great Job!

(11/14/2008)Members from the Olney FFA Chapter competed at the Section 23 FFA Agronomy CDE in Mt. Carmel on November 4th. The chapter ranked first overall at the event. Great job team and good luck at the State CDE!

Olney FFA has banner year at the 80th IL FFA Convention
(06/20/2008)The Olney FFA had a banner year in 2007-2008 with several awards received at the 80th Annual Illinois FFA Convention. The convention took place on June 10-12th at the Prairie Capitol Convention Center in Springfield. Top honors included: six State FFA Degree recipients, Gold rated Program Of Activities, Section Bankers Plaque winner, Section winner in Heritage Activities Program, Section winner in Cooperative Activities program, Sweepstakes award, Outstanding chapter Reporter Award, and State Chorus participant. While at convention the chapter competed in the Chapter Scrapbook competition and placed as a gold level chapter and 1st place ranking in the state. Congratulations to all of the chapters award winners!
Chapter Livestock team does well at SIU Ag Industry Day!
(04/30/2008)The Olney FFA Chapter Livestock Judging team competed at the SIUC Livestock Judging contest and 4th Annual Ag Industry Day on April 18. Fifty teams competed with our chapter placing 4th overall. Team members included: Jordon Ridgely, Fionna Gibbs, Taylor Scherer, Matt Dehlinger, Simon Burgener, Rachel Cunningham, Stacey Cowman, and Kyle Seals. Jordon placed 7th high individual overall. Great job team and good luck at upcoming judging competitions. The team also had the opportunity to listen to and meet TV personality and host of U.S. Farm Report Orion Samuleson. He gave an inspirational speech about the future role of students in the Agriculture Industry. One message to young people from Orion was "You can't dream too big"!
Olney FFA to be showcased on RFD TV
(03/03/2008)The Olney FFA Chapter from East Richland High School will be showcased this weekend, March 8-10, 2008, on “This Week In AgriBusiness”, which is aired on RFD-TV. Broadcast times are 7:00a.m. and 5:00p.m. on Saturdays; 7:00p.m. on Sundays; and 8:00a.m. on Mondays (Central Time Zone).

Parliamentary Procedure team does well at District V competition.
(01/27/2008)The Olney FFA Parliamentary Procedure team placed 3rd overall in the District V FFA contest held January 23rd, at SIU in Carbondale. Noteable placings included: Mason Dehlinger as 1st place Chairman and Samantha Snider as 2nd place Secretary. Top overall floor members included: Jalyn Ridgley 8th, Stacy Bare 9th, and Jessica Snidle 10th place. Good job this year team!
