Why did you join FFA?

I joined the FFA because I love a class that I can get my hands on things and learn. This class teaches you things in life that you may actually use someday for just about anything you do for a living. Ag teaches responsibility through SAEs. It makes you get out in the world and work. It is a great way to get a job early in life and become a mature young adult. FFA has opened me to some cool new ideas and help me find something that I love to do.

What has been your most challenging FFA experience?

My most challenging FFA experience was throwing a tire in the ag olympics. When I went up to throw it, I swung around like I was throwing a discus and when my foot planted and my knee cap dislocated. When that happened Matt had to pick me up and carry me by himself so he could lay me down on the couch. The pain was almost unbearable. I soon came to find out I needed a MCL reconstruction and a bone chip taken out.

Who has had the greatest impact on your life?

My brother Bryan has had the biggest impact on my life. When he was my age he was a huge trouble maker and got horrible grades. He led himself on a path to a terrible life. Ever since he did this. he has been making a huge effort to make sure I do not make the same mistakes he did. He has done his best to keep me on the right track and I have nothing but respect for him because of it.

If you had a million dollars, what would you do with it?

If I had a million dollars I would give half a million to breast cancer foundations. I feel like we all need to strive for a cure. I would also buy my parents a new house because they spent their whole lives putting a roof over my head and keeping me out of trouble. Now it is my turn to pay them back for all that they have done for me. That is what I would do with a million dollars.

What is your favorite thing about ag and FFA so far?

My favorite thing about FFA so far is breed identification. I have always been interested in different animals and how they originated. With breed identification I have had the chance learn all of that. It also prepares me for livestock judging. That is my favorite thing.
