Members of the PBL FFA Ag Sales team competed in the Illinois FFA Ag Sales CDE on Saturday, November 14th at Parkland College. The team finished in second place behind Midland FFA.
Mershon Caissie was the 1st place individual in the state Sales Presentation event. Clayton Glazik took 1st place honors in the host choice segment. Ben Magers was 5th place in Customer Relations, while Billy Masco and Cade Moritz placed 6th in their events - Customer Service and Prospecting.
This team has earned the privilege of representing Illinois FFA in the National FFA Marketing Plan CDE at the 2010 National FFA Convention.
PBL FFA Agronomy Team took top honors in the 2009 Illinois FFA Agronomy CDE. The team was made up of Dallas Glazik, 1st place individual; Allie Donnelly, 8th place; Clayton Glazik and Julian Geiken.
The team is now qualified to compete in the 2010 National FFA Agronomy CDE in Indianapolis.
PBL FFA members were recently named the 1st Place team at the State FFA Horticulture contest.
Jon Hustedt was the top individual in the event; Jennifer Bober was 3rd place individual.
Kirsten Blackford, Megan Coady, and Mershon Caissie completed the team.
This team now qualifies to represent Illinois in the National FFA Nursery/Landscape CDE at the National FFA Convention in October 2010.
The PBL FFA Ag Business Management team competed in the Illinois FFA State Ag Business Management Career Development Event on May 6, 2010. The team was the 1st place team in the state event.
Monica Jarboe was the top individual in the state, while Austin Schumacher was 3rd. Clayton Glazik, Mike Shively and Dallas Glazik completed the team.
The Ag Business Management event included a 40 question test that was problem based, a 50 question multiple choice section and 25 true-false questions. The test assessed students understanding of business organization, finance, taxes, insurance, commodity marketing, economics and law.
This team will represent Illinois FFA in the National FFA Farm Business Management CDE in Indianapolis during October of 2010. This team joins PBL's Agronomy, Marketing Plan, Nursery/Landscape, and Poultry teams to compete at nationals. In all, 19 PBL students will be competing at the national level this fall.
