About Craig FFA

History of the Janesville Craig FFA

In 1996, the Janesville Craig FFA was rechartered after over ten years of having no FFA chapter or agriculture classes offered at the high school.   The first chapter members cleaned out the old greenhouse and started to get involved in class projects and the FFA.  In 1996 there were 22 members and Nicole Kinney was elected as the first President of the re-chartered chapter.  Prior to 1996, the Craig FFA has been active in many events and has a history dating back to 1929.  Unfourtenely most of this histroy has been lost or is sitting in the back room in a box, without names, times, places and anything to identify them.

Here is one of the oldest pictures we were able to find and identify.

This is a picture of the Janesville High School FFA livestock judging team from 1925.  Team members placed first in the local contest and fourth overall in the state contest.  (Left to right ) Lyle Mawhinney, John Campion, and Emmett Arnold.
